Much can be learned about the rich heritage of the local area at the nearby Earby Lead Mine Museum. Queen Street Mill and Textile Museum also lies about eight miles away and is Lancashire's last 19th Century steam powered weaving mill.
Other places to visit in and around the area include the market town of Skipton (recently voted as having the best shopping street in the United Kingdom) with its castle, parish church and regular street market. Sitting astride the Leeds/Liverpool canal there are always numerous narrow boats in the basin and boat trips are available daily. The beautiful ruins of Bolton Abbey are only short car ride away, as well as Malham with its tarn and spectacular limestone scenery. Also nearby is Haworth village (famous for the Bronte Parsonage Museum and its associations with the Brontes), as well as the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

The Pennine Way long distance footpath passes close by to Grange Fell, and Grange Fell welcomes walkers and cyclists who may be passing through the area.
The area is well served by fine restaurants with menus covering english, italian, indian, greek, chinese and thai food. There are also numerous country pubs serving excellent pub food and local brewed beer.
